PRIZES FOR THE MERITORIOUS STUDENTS OF BARDEZ
The special meeting of the Bardez branch of the Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj was conducted on Sunday the 4th July under the Presidentship of Mr. Suhas Naik and the guidance of the Central Committee’s Vice President Dr. Ulhas Parab and the Treasurer Mr. Arvind Desai.
It is resolved unanimously by the attendants that, the students of 96 K A. G. Kshatriya Maratha Samaj, passing with minimum of 1st class in any of the final terminal examinations in the academic year 2009-10 of X, XII, Degree, Diploma and post graduation shall be invited for the award of prices.
So those concerned as above, should submit their full name, address tel. No. and the mark-sheet to the office of the Bardez branch of A. G. K. M. Samaj, situated on the 1st floor of Hotel SUHAS, Mapusa, Goa. on or before 15th July 10. After final scrutiny, the price-distribution ceremony shall be held at an appropriate place at the hands of a reputed personality at 4.00 p.m. on Sunday the 25th July 2010.

At the outset, I thank you for your co-operation for time to time publicity to our social work.
As you had published earlier, the Bardez branch of Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj has organized the felicitation program of the meritorious students from Bardez Taluka on Sunday the 25th July 2010 in the meeting hall of Hotel SUHAS, Mapusa. The said felicitation shall be carried out at the hands of Goa Pradesh President of B.J.P. Prof Laxmikant Parsekar as chief guest and in the presence of Dr. Jiblo Gaonkar, ex Director of Health Department, Dr. Gauri Rupesh Gawas, M.D. Gold Medalist as guest of honour and shri. Santoba Desai, the President of A.G.K.M. Samaj.
You are therefore cordially invited to attend the function and dignify the occasion.

THE FELICITATION OF YAMUNA NAIK AND OTHERS BY BARDEZ KSHATRIY MARATHA SAMAJ
The Bardez shakha of A. G. K. M. Samaj has performed , the felicitation programme of meritorious students of Bardez taluka at the hands of Prof. Laxmikant Parsekar as the chief guest, recently at the Hotel Suhas of Mapusa.
The ex dy. Director of Health Dpt. Dr. Giblo Gaonkar, the renowned social worker and Dr. Gauri Gawas, the Gold Medalist at M.D., were the guests of honour. Also Shri, Santoba Desai, the President of central committee, shri. Suhas Naik, the president of Bardez taluka committee and the Secretary Prof. Surendra Gawas were also on the dais.
After the prayer to the Saraswati and Vyasa, on the occasion of Guru-paurnima and lighting the traditional lamp, the idol of Raja Shivaji was garlanded by the chief guest. The commencement of the program with the purposed thereof, were narrated by shri. Narendra Morajkar. The audience and the prize awardees were welcomed by shri. Suhas Naik. In his welcome speech, he expressed the helplessness of the community in the present situation and suggested the ways to overcome it. Also he recalled the history of Marathas to retaliate the invasion of foreigners to save the country and likewise he urged the revolution to lead the community from political darkness in to the lights. He also offered to give free accommodation for 10 poor and deserving students who come to study in the town from the remote village places.
After that the cash prizes, the mementos and the certificates were awarded to the meritorious students at the hands of the chief guest. Thereafter the parents of XII class Goa topper Miss Yamuna Naik, namely Mrs. Pushpa and Mr. Pramod Naik were felicitated with shawl-shreefal by the chief guest.
Thereafter Dr. Jiblo gaonkar expressed happiness over the use of `Marathi’ by the organizers and the community fellows which he said to be the born language of Maratha and he expressed confidence that the very same language shall enhance the self-respect, the culture, the religion and subsequently the nation.
Dr. Gauri Gawas advised the students to maintain the modesty even if they excel in any field and for that she sighted the example of Sachin Tendulkar. Also while inspiring the students she said that there is nothing impossible in the life provided you have basic ambition and vigorous efforts to achieve it and for that she insisted students to read a small book namely `Alchemist’ written by `Paulo Coelho’
Thereafter, shri. Laxmikant Parsekar advised students to study hard and prosper at the same time he advised parents not to be too after the children to force their own will on the children which is like a burden under which they could be crushed. Instead, he said that, education is not the only field where one can excel, but there are so many other good works, arts, sports etc., where if you interest and achieve supremacy, people could salute you and he sighted so many examples.
Shri. Santoba Desai narrated the work that central committee and he himself with his associates are doing for the Maratha community and realizing it’s broadness, he stressed upon the need of rapid completion of the large building complex at parvarim under construction for which he insisted every community member to share his responsibility to make the Maratha community as almighty.
Lastly Prof. Surendra Gawas expressed thanks reading out the names particularly those who helped in raising the fund in no time for the entire program also those known, unknown individuals who helped in making the program so successful. The program was concluded by the pasaydan a well wishing prayer. Entire program was compared by shri. Gopal Sawant.

Intimation of General meeting
The general meeting of Bardez shakha of Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj is to be held on Sunday the 15th August 2010 in the community hall at 1st floor of hotel Suhas at Mapusa. All the members, active workers and well-wishers of the community from Bardez taluka are earnestly requested to be present and take active part in interaction.
Following topics shall be discussed in the meeting. 1) Review of last felicitation of meritorious students, future provision for such programmes and accounts
2) Slight Re-organization in executive and working committee. 3) Provision and planning for expanding membership of the community and any other development like matters with the consent of all.
